These psize 10 were a good fit for me, I am 5'1" and not exactly tiny espcially with long underwear underneath. There is a certain amount of stretch which is comfortable and not the girdle effect too much. The cords are a little flat if you are thinking of even small wale cords, but they still have a nice look. They washed up nicely in cold water, and I shared the drying with hanging up and then for about 10 minutes put them in the dryer inside out.
